Geometry

Welcome to geometry! This week we will be exploring the beginnings of the development of geometry. There is anthropological evidence that geometrical principals were being used by humans as far as we can we possibly date back.

In Greece, a long long time ago, a person named Euclid developed language and structure to define the mathematics of geometry that many people use.

Euclid's geometry:

Do you think that it was only in Greece that geometry was being defined and developed?
Have you ever wondered if what is defined mathematically is actually real?  (Mathematicians throughout time have thought about this.  Using mathematical logic they try to prove and disprove ideas).  Einstein was quoted as saying, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them".  What do you think about this?
